DIALOGUETHROUGH MUSIC

When Ho Yu-To's father learned from Chinese astrology that his son would become a fine pianist, he encouraged Tommy to begin lessons at the age of seven. Now, Tommy will be graduating from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours, majoring in piano performance under the tutelage of Prof. Raymond Young Chap Lai.

Previous studies with William Fu saw Tommy — also nicknamed "Drybaby" due to an eczema condition that has caused him dry, irritated skin to this day — obtain his ATCL in piano performance with distinction. Tommy has also complemented his intensive studies by taking part in a multitude of masterclasses given by Ms. Nancy Loo, Prof. David Gwilt, Prof. Jenny Soojin Kim, and Prof. Ksenia Nosikova, as well as chamber music coached by Dr. Kiu Tung Poon, Ms. Wing Wun Ip, Prof. Su Yin Mak, Prof. Patrick Yim, and Prof. David Frühwirth.

Proving his mettle at competitions, Tommy picked up First Prize at the Hong Kong International Music and Cultural Festival Piano Competition in 2022, and Second Prize at the Antonio Vivaldi International Youth Competition in Vienna in 2024.

His versatility as a pianist speaks for itself, and his recent performances — the French Music Project at CUHK in 2023 and 2024, the 60th Anniversary Global Student Concert "Dialogue in Music: Global Connection", concerts organised by Wiener Musikseminar in Vienna, the inauguration concert of JENGAH! Ensemble, the "Midday Oasis" chamber music concert, a solo recital at HKMOA, and an appearance as soloist with the CUHK Student Orchestra — have all been resounding successes.

As pianist of La Nature Trio, Tommy's participation in the "Ground Music" project organised by KALOS has led him to expand his horizons by performing at venues such as Yoho Mall and Hysan Place. Aside from his active performance life, his skill at composing has already proved fruitful: his first piano trio, entitled "Happy Birthday", was premiered at the Bauhinia Concert in 2024.

當何御韜的父親從八字算命中得知兒子將成為一位出色的鋼琴家時，便鼓勵何氏於七歲開始學琴。如今何氏將以一級榮譽於香港中文大學音樂系畢業，主修鋼琴演奏，師從楊習禮教授。

因濕疹之故暱稱「Drybaby」的何氏早年在傅吉豪先生的指導下，以優異成績取得鋼琴演奏 ATCL 文憑。除了專業訓練外，何氏曾參與多場大師班，師承羅乃新女士、紀大衛教授、Jenny Soojin Kim 教授及 Ksenia Nosikova 教授，並接受潘曉彤博士、葉詠媛女士、麥淑賢教授、嚴天成博士及 David Frühwirth 教授的室樂指導。

在比賽舞台上，何氏表現出色，曾獲得 2022 年香港國際音樂及文化節鋼琴比賽第一名，以及 2024 年維也納 Antonio Vivaldi International Youth Competition 第二名。

何氏的鋼琴演奏風格豐富多變，近期演出包括 2023 及 2024 年的香港中文大學「法國五月：《樂在中大》法國聲樂及室樂作品」、香港中文大學六十週年「國際妙韻賀中大音樂會」、Wiener Musikseminar 音樂會、「JENGAH! Ensemble」創團音樂會、「午間心靈綠洲」室樂音樂會，於香港藝術館作獨奏，以及於香港中文大學學生管弦樂團演出中擔任鋼琴獨奏，皆廣受好評。

何氏參與由 KALOS 舉辦的「樂地」計劃，並在形點與希慎廣場等地演出，進一步拓展了其藝術視野。除了演奏外，何氏亦致力於作曲，其首部鋼琴三重奏作品《生日快樂》已於 2024 紫荊音樂會首演。
